Cancellation and refund policy
ChessDoer is paid monthly by the parent or guardian. This page explains how to stop and when you get money back.
Cancel any time
- UPI auto-pay: tap Stop auto-pay on your parent page, or cancel the mandate in your UPI app (such as Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm). No more debits are made after that.
- Monthly payment link: just do not pay the next link. After 7 days, chess pauses for your child. Their progress is kept, and they can start again whenever you pay.
There is no cancellation fee. Your child keeps access until the end of the month you already paid for.
When we refund
| What happened | What we do |
|---|---|
| You stopped part-way through a month | No refund for that month. Access continues to the end of it. |
| Money left your account but the payment failed | This is usually reversed automatically by your bank or Razorpay within 5 to 7 working days. If not, tell us and we will chase it. |
| You were charged twice for the same child and month | We add an extra month to your child’s access. If you prefer your money back, tell us within 30 days and we refund the second payment in full. |
| You were charged after you stopped auto-pay, or after the school told us your child had left | Full refund of that charge. |
| Chess was paused for late payment | You are never charged for paused days, so there is nothing to refund. |
We may also refund in other cases where it is fair, for example a long outage on our side.
How to ask for a refund
Message us on WhatsApp or email [email protected] from your registered phone number with:
- your child’s name and school;
- the payment date, and the invoice number or Razorpay payment ID (on your receipt).
We reply within 2 working days. Approved refunds go back to the same account, card or UPI ID you paid from, and usually arrive within 5 to 7 working days after we approve them. We send a note with the refund reference on WhatsApp.
Receipts
Every payment gets a receipt on your parent page and on WhatsApp. A refund is shown against the payment it returns.
